"I was born in Liverpool, & have lived in Widnes, Cheshire, England
for over 20 years
….the pictures represented here are part of an ongoing series of unique
pen & ink drawings that are an attempt to portray the many faces,
sometimes through the changing years, of various musicians & singers
who have influenced & inspired so many…...including, of course, the ever
popular Beatles!
….the majority of these drawings are done using a 'stippling' or
'pointillism' technique; thousands of ink dots creating a sense of depth
and realism. Many also incorporate the words of songs providing the
depth and tone of the portrait in a highly original manner. Using
commercially available drawing pens, this method, whilst infinitely
rewarding, requires extreme patience and discipline!
“though time consuming - over 6 months in some cases - each drawing
takes on its own challenge as there is never a preconceived end result
so, in effect, the picture defines itself!!”
….these highly acclaimed pictures/drawings have been exhibited all over
Cheshire, North Wales, the Midlands & the North West of England.......
"...my aim is to create a work that satisfies on 2 levels; compositions
with impact as well as, on closer inspection, a world of detail that
invites the viewer
to linger awhile!!“
"...I feel art should serve to remind us of the universal inter-relation
of all things, of unity and harmony eg. the relationship between the
artist,
the pen and the viewer!"
The dimensions of the works are, mostly, A3 size ie
297 x 420 mm.
and each of the drawings presented on PariSketch have been rendered
using 'rotring isograph' pens.
